About Me

With over 24 years the field of education, I have served individuals with exceptional needs from their earliest school years through adulthood. My entire professional life has been steeped in schools—a journey that has taken me through both private and public settings, primarily focused on public education.

My career trajectory has been enriched by my commitment to both systemic and individual growth, having progressed through roles including Paraprofessional, Job Transition Coordinator, School Psychologist, Special Education Team Leader, Department Chair, and Special Education Supervisor. I hold a Bachelor's from St. Louis University, a Master's and Educational Specialist degree from Kent State University, and a Master's in Educational Leadership from North Central University.

Along the way, I have successfully established and coordinated district and building-level processes for using data to drive decisions and implement successful academic supports and Positive Behavior Intervention Systems (PBIS). I specialize in holistic, interdisciplinary problem-solving, collaborating closely with families and educators from multiple disciplines to meet the unique needs of every student. My background also extends to coordinating specialized programs for students with significant needs, including those related to autism and complex social-emotional and behavioral challenges. Furthermore, I have championed post secondary transition success by providing on-the-job training, recreation exploration, and self-advocacy education for high school students across multiple districts. Throughout all of these roles, I have also supported families and teams with navigation of legal parameters and rights that accompany all aspects of public education.

Progress is my passion, closely followed by the deep desire to encourage and empower others - be they colleagues, parents, or students - to feel confident in their ability to meet the needs of our children. I am so lucky to say that I love this work that I’ve spent so much of my life pursuing. As an educator, wife, and mother to two elementary-aged children (along with two black cats and a bulldog), I believe education is more crucial than ever and am profoundly appreciative to serve in this essential field every single day.
